W&H, or Windmöller & Hölscher, is a German machine manufacturer founded in 1869 by Hermann Hölscher and Gottfried Windmöller. They got the first patent for a cone bag machine with printing devices for in-house bag production in 1877. A year later, they developed the first stand-alone printing press for paper bags. In the last 150 years of the existence of W&H, they also made machines to produce plastic bags, printers, and extruders.
Nowadays, W&H is one of the largest machinery producers for the flexible packaging industry in extrusion, printing, and converting. The most well-known machines are the Matador, Miraflex, Novoflex, Astraflex and Filmex printing presses. Around 3.100 employees work for this German company, and the machines can be found in over 130 countries worldwide. The headquarters of W&H are in Lengerich in Germany.
