Soloflex, a central impression flexographic printer from Windmöller & Hölscher, is designed to optimize short runs using materials up to 650mm width. Rather than conventional cylinders and rollers, the press employs a cantilevered method of plate cylinder and anilox roll changeover. Quick-change sleeves speed make-ready. One operator can complete a full six- or eight-color make-ready in 30 to 40 minutes, according to the company. Revised deck design improves support during printing and permits high speeds on this W&H machine.
