Label printing is the process of printing custom labels by methods such as digital, flexographic and wide-format printing. The earliest adhesive labels were printed on paper with an adhesive gum at the back, activited by licking it. Later the self adhesive label was invented. The use of the flexographic printing presses enabled manufacturers to print fluid ink on flexible material such as film or vinyl using plates to transfer the images. Nowadays digital printing is the new process of label printing. The material comes in long rolls fed trhrough the printer where the printing machine prints with the inkjet technology creating high quality and full coulour labels.
