This offering is for a custom-built pilot coating line. The system is designed as a freestanding system with all sections designed for direct floor mounting. The system is designed to unwind a web and apply a coating to the surface. Once exiting the coater, the web travels through a one zone dryer designed to drive off the coating carrier, followed by an additional two zone dryer. Laminate webs can be added to the web
in one of four locations; either on top of the web prior to the coating being applied, into the coating before the web enters the dryer, between the two dryers or after the dryers. A printer is included to add coding to the web prior to winding. The web is then wound. An interleaf can also be added at winding.
Included are two laminating nips, one between the two dryers and one after the second dryer. Each laminating nip features rolls that are internally cored for future heating. In addition to a unwinds above, an unwind for adding a liner over the web is provided at each laminator.
The system is designed to allow for the future addition of a single sided corona treater as well as a coating thickness measurement gauge at the exit of the coater. Included with the system is a fully integrated drive and control system. This system features a freestanding panel complete with the appropriate drives, PLC, fusing and circuitry required for operating the system. Also included is a machine mounted touchscreen, designed for operation of the machine as well as a Wonderware Supervisory System complete with a Wonderware Historian 500 tag software package for data aquisition. Included in the quote is a knife over roll coater. The coater is designed to allow for the future addition of other coating methods including slot die and notch bar.
