Up until 2007 Kiefel existed as a independent, German, wel known producer of (blown film) extrusion lines and other machinery for the packaging industry. After being taken over by the Brueckner Group in 2009 quickly the blown film division was sold to the Reifenhauser Group in 2009. As both companies were active in the blown-film segment Kiefel was in 2011 merged into the Reifenhauser group and the name Kiefel seized to exist. Today Reifenhäuser Blown Film develops and manufactures modular 3- to 12-layer lines for the production of blown film of widths ranging from 1000 mm to 4300 mm. This covers the entire spectrum of technologies - from blown film for standard packaging applications and complex industrial films with barrier properties for food packaging through to agricultural film with a maximum film circumference of 22 meters.
