Soma is a family-run company based in the Czech Republic. It all started way back in 1890 when a textile factory was built to help locally unemployed weavers. Till 1992 the production focused more and more on various parts and machines for the electronic industry. In 1992 Soma was founded. Besides the machinery production for the electronic field and car industry, they also started a production line of slitter rewinders for the flexible packaging industry. Their first CI flexo press was successfully exported to various countries all over the world. During these decades, Soma developed a new generation of slitter-rewinders called Planet family, an UV Flexo printing press and a solvent-free laminator. Later on, the successful Soma Flex Optima printing press.
A unique selling point of Soma is the production of the machinery in house with a minimum of outsourcing. Therefore Soma can guarantee the highest quality of their equipment also produced according to safety regulations and sustainability requirements.Besides selling mechanical presses, Soma developed a platform for all complementary partners such as ink, plate, anilox, sleeve, and tape manufacturers to give their clients the most complete service.
