The KBA Flexotecnica FT EVO XG is a high-performance central impression (CI) flexographic printing press designed for high-quality printing on flexible packaging materials. Manufactured by KBA – Koenig & Bauer Flexotecnica, the FT EVO XG combines gearless technology with a wide 1320 mm web width and a maximum printing width of 1270 mm.
This 2016 flexographic press is configured with 10 printing colours plus an additional +1 colour, providing increased flexibility for complex multi-colour printing jobs and special colour applications. One of its particularly notable features is its large printing repeat range of 420 to 1200 mm. The maximum 1200 mm repeat allows for exceptionally long print lengths, making the machine suitable for applications where a large repeat is required.
The FT EVO XG can print with both solvent-based and water-based inks on a broad range of substrates, including PE, OPP, CPP, PA, PET and paper, with material thicknesses from 12 to 200 micron. The machine has a maximum mechanical speed of 600 m/min and is equipped with automatic turret unwind and rewind systems for reels up to 1000 mm in diameter.
For process control and print quality, the press includes a BST IPQ video camera system, viscosity control, automatic cleaning, web guiding and a 6 kW AFS corona treater. Thermic oil is used for drying, and inline slitting is also included.
A major advantage of this particular FT EVO XG is the very extensive tooling package supplied with the machine. It includes 881 sleeves, 34 aniloxes and 60 intermediates in five different sizes, offering a substantial range of tooling for different printing requirements.
