SML cast extrusion line

SML is a renowned Austrian manufacturer of high-performance extrusion lines for the production of plastic films. The company has a strong reputation in the flexible packaging industry, especially for advanced cast film extrusion technology used in applications such as stretch film, hygiene films and specialty films. SML extruders are known for their precision, efficiency and ability to produce high-quality films at industrial production speeds.

This used SML 5 layer cast film extrusion line, built in 2005, is designed for the production of LLDPE stretch film. The line is equipped with a 5 layer extrusion system and features screws with diameters of 90 – 120 – 120 – 120 – 90 mm. The die width is 3100 mm, allowing production with a maximum web width of 2500 mm.

The line is equipped with a hydraulic screen changer, gravimetric dosing system from Doteco and an online thickness measurement system to support consistent film quality. The rewinding section features a turret rewinder with a maximum net capacity of 2300 kg/h. Inline slitting is available for production of up to 5 rolls.

The extrusion line has recently benefited from investments and a partial revamp of the control system. It is also equipped with additional equipment, including an Erema regranulator for edge trim recycling, three Kongskilde exhaust systems for edge trim handling and an additional extruder for processing recycled material.
